VTech Innotab Educational Games

The Innotab app store has 1000’s of apps and games designed to teach kids ages 3-9 the core learning outcomes of school subjects. These apps are forward compatible, meaning that if you buy a newer tablet once a later model comes out, you will still be able to install your previously purchased apps.

Downloading these apps is much cheaper than purchasing the game cartridges for these tablets. Each app will sell from anywhere between $5 to $15. In order to accommodate for your ever growing collection of learning apps, you can also purchase a microSD card that will expand the Innotab’s internal memory to 32GB.

The apps and games sold on the Innotab app store are categorized based on age groups. You will find learning modules featuring shapes, logic, math, sciences, drawing, reading, and writing.

The Innotab app store is called the Learning Lodge. Here is a list of some of the most popular games featured on the Learning Lodge:

Learning Lodge apps for Ages 3+

The following list of educational apps will cover the ages of 3 to 9 years. Most have been given at least a 4 star rating by Amazon viewers.

Bubble Guppies

This is a 2-in-1 download. You will get a game that includes a series of adventures featuring observation, math, patterns, social studies, and creativity. And for the parent, it comes with a Bubble Guppy ebook to be read to the child.

Learning Lodge apps for Ages 4+

The following are the most popular Innotab games for kids ages 4 and up.

Toy Story

Your kids may be familiar with the awesome Toy Story series. This app will add a taste of familiarity to your kids’ tablet. It comes with a Toy Story ebook that can be read to the child. The app itself teaches math, letters, and shapes.

Disney Princess

This app features the ever popular Belle and Cinderella characters. Your kids will be able to follow along as you read the the ebook that comes with it. As with Toy Story, the Disney Princess app teaches counting, letters, and shapes.

Thomas The Train

Who can forget about the famous Thomas the Train? As with the previous 2 apps, it comes with an ebook, and learning modules covering the basics of letters, numbers, and shapes.

Dora The Explorer

Here is another classic favorite. This one has an ebook with voiceovers to help your kids learn how to read. As always, your kids will be immersed in the basics for their age with numbers, shapes, and letters.

Monsters University

Join Sully and Mike as they play along with games featuring letter, counting, and memory games. There is also an ebook in the package based on Monsters Inc.

Learning Lodge apps for Ages 5+

These games are great for kids ages 5 to 9 years of age. You may choose between these highly rated games based on well known cartoon characters.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Your kids will learn shapes, counting and colors with the Mickey Mouse gang, featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. This includes 3 games and a Disney ebook.


This is an old classic, but is not going out of style anytime soon. As with the other apps, your kids will learn the basics of math, shapes, and letter. It comes with an ebook called ‘Mystery Inc.’

Disney Fairies

This app contains 3 learning adventures, as well as an ebook; ‘Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue.’

The Penguins of Madagascar

A standard educational app with math, letters and shapes. It comes with an ebook containing modules for making pictures with penguins.

Learning Lodge apps for Ages 6+

The following games are appropriate for kids ages 6 to 9 years of age.


The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a cult classic among kids as well as adults. This app is more complex than the previous apps because of the age difference. This features modules for science, math, geometry, and words. There are 10 games in total and it comes with an ebook.

Spongebob Squarepants

Your kids get to use their D-Pad with this game featuring 3 different levels. It also comes with a Spongebob ebook.


There is a games for every age group from 3 to 9 years old. As you can see, they are mostly based on popular cartoon characters.
