Top 3 Kids Tablets of 2014

Kids wifi tablets have been around for the past couple of years. Not all are created equal, but one thing is certain; each year, there are dramatic improvements upon previous models. And 2013 was no exception.

Many of the newest models came out last year, right before Christmas. Many were similar in design to their previous versions, but have much better specs, and a more extensive library of educational apps.

The following 3 tablets are the best we have ever reviewed at the time of this writing.

1. Google Nexus 7 Inch Tablet

We gave this tablet a 5.0 rating, and believe it is the best one available in 2014. This is purely based on an amalgam of factors that we feel are important, and is not to be taken literally. The Google Nexus is directly integrated with Google Play for a wide selection of educational apps. Furthermore, no other kids tablet can outdo its processing speed (1.5 GHz) and graphics quality.

This tablet has maxed out all of the features of a good kids tablet. The battery on this baby lasts 9 hours during video playback. Furthermore, its parental controls include all of the security features one might want. Parents can choose which apps kids have access to, for how long, and on what date.

The Google Nexus is lightweight for great portability among children. The screen resolution is 1920X1200 dpi; the best we’ve seen in a kids tablet.

Needless to say, this tablet is a triple threat.

2. Tabeo E2 Tablet

The Tabeo E2 was released by Toys R Us, and is said to be a clone of the popular Fuhu Nabi 2. Nevertheless, this turned out to be one of the best tablets of 2014.

The Tabeo has a 1.0 GHz dual core processor, which is fast, but not as fast as the Google Nexus or the Sakar XO. However, it sports a 1024 X 768 dpi screen, putting it between the Google Nexus and the Sakar XO for graphics quality. With a microSD card, this tablet can have a whopping 64GB of storage.

Perhaps the best feature of the Tabeo E2 is the fact that it comes preloaded with 30 apps, most of which are very popular among the best kids tablets. Games such as Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and learning apps with My Little Pony and Cartoon Network themes are sure to keep kids entertained.

3. Sakar XO 7 Inch Tablet

The Sakar XO is a reasonably priced tablet. Is is a bit more affordable than the Google Nexus, but still has plenty of processing power (1.64GHz dual-core processor). The screen resolution for this tablet is 1024 x 600 dpi, which is not as great as the Google Nexus, but it still has great graphic quality and smoothness.

The battery life is 8 hours, and it only measures 1 pound (very light). The app selection with this tablet is extensive and spans for ages 2-12 years old.

This is the first kids tablet to be offered in English, Spanish, French, and Italian. This variety allows kids to learn different languages by playing games.

Overall, this tablet is great for the price, which is around $150.
