This Kurio 4S Touch Review is aimed at parents who want to purchase a decent 4 inch kids tablet for under $100.

This tablet have great value for a very small price compared to the others of the same price range. It costs about $60 on Amazon, even cheaper than the lower end Datawind Ubislate 7CI but with better quality.

You may have noticed a difference between this one and other kids tablets; it does not have a bright colored rubber bumper. However, it is still geared towards younger users, and fits discreetly into your pocket as if it were just another smartphone.

Our Kurio 4S Tablet Review is a summary of the most important aspects of a tablet. Read the following for our full specs review for the Kurio 4S.

Kurio 4S Features

For a $60 tablet, the Kurio 4S really packs a punch with a fast processor, and plenty of storage.

It has a Dual Core Cortex A20 processor, which is plenty for a 4 inch tablet. It is not sluggish, as with most $60 tablets.

The Kurio 4S houses 8GB of storage, and can be expanded to 32GB with a microSD card. There are tablets that cost more than $100 having only 4GB of storage, or 8GB without the option to upgrade. Here to, the Kurio 7S gets a thumbs up!

The chassis on this device does not appear out of the ordinary at first glance, but it is actually made extra bulky so that it doesn’t easily slide out of kids’ hands. This will be important to prevent damage from those little ones’ adorable clumsiness.

As mentioned, the display on this tablet measures 5 inches. This is smaller than most conventional kids tablets that measure anywhere between 7-10.1 inches. Since it is a touch screen, kids can interact with the display for a truly awesome experience. According to touch response tests, the Kurio responds quickly to touch and is great at picking up quick gestures.

My only issue with the screen is that it can be slightly too dark considering the interface background colors. This could just be a matter of preference, as I like bright interfaces with an open feel.

The Software

This tablet comes preloaded with 30 educational apps and games. You will find popular selections, such as Angry Birds, Space and Hulk, and Disney characters.

Parents can create up to 4 user profiles for their kids. For each account, they can specify which apps will be available, and for how long. The date and time of availability can be specified as well, giving this tablet full parental control. Parents can choose whether to allow is disallow access to the Internet.

The Verdict

As you can see, the Kurio 7S Touch tablet is excellent, with few issues. For a $60 tablet, it has more than many could ever have hope for. It has very robust parental controls, a fast processor, and many wonderfully popular apps. This tablet is my top pick for tablets under $100!
