Goldengulf 9 Inch Tablet Review

The Goldengulf 9 Inch Tablet came out in 2015. Unfortunately, even though it is a newer model, it does not have more power than last year’s tablets of the same price range. Read on for better tablet options for $50 or less. The Goldengulf 9 Inch tablet can be purchased for $50 on Amazon.

Our Goldengulf 9 Inch Tablet Review is an overview of the most important aspects of this tablet. Our opinion is based on a comparison between this one and other tablets in the same price range.

Low Quality Graphics

Although the Goldengulf has a rather large screen at 9 inches, its resolution is only 800X480 dpi. This means that the graphics look rather pixelated. This resolution would look better on a 7 inch screen since the pixels will be more condensed. Even so, there are $50 tablets that have an even higher resolution on a 7 inch screen.

For example, the Dragon Touch Y88X has a 1024×600 dpi resolution on a 7 inch screen, and it can be purchased for $50 on Amazon!

Low Battery Life

This tablet has a battery life of 3.5 hours. This is a little on the low side. The Dragon Touch Y88X runs for 5 hours on continuous play. Considering that you can get the Dragon Touch for the same price, this is also another strike against the Goldengulf.

Dual Core processor

Although the Goldengulf is advertised as having a Dual Core processor, we could not find an mention of the speed of the processor. This is another strike against the Goldengulf, and another reason why it may be a safer bet to choose the more reliable Dragon Touch. It has better reviews on Amazon, and has a Quad Core 1.2GHz processor. This means that it is less likely to freeze up while doing other things besides surfing the web.

Decent Storage

On the plus side, the Goldengulf has a decent amount of storage at 8GB. This is about average for a tablet of this price. Granted, the Dragon Touch also has 8GB of storage.

Access to Google Play, Skype, YouTube, and Facebook

Of course, since the Goldengulf is an Android tablet, it gives access Google Play. From there, you can download 100’s of useful apps and games.

Like many other tablets, including the Dragon Touch, you can install Skype, YouTube, and Facebook. If all you are looking for is a means of surfing the web and chatting with friends and family, this one may not be so bad.

The Verdict

Even though this tablet is on the cheap side, it is not your only option. As you have seen, this one does not have the best performance. For the same price of $50, you can purchase the Dragon Touch Y88X on Amazon. It has much better specs, and, as a bonus, comes pre-installed Zoodles and Google Play.
